We are always looking for passionate volunteers to help us with our various activities supporting former racehorses in their new lives. Volunteering is rewarding and enjoyable and plays a vital role in allowing us to carry out our education, outreach and fundraising.
What's in it for you?
You'll have the chance to be considered for the RoR Volunteer Recognition Award.
As an event volunteer, you’ll represent RoR at racedays, shows, and equestrian events. You might help staff our stand, talk to members of the public about our work, sell merchandise, hand out information, or collect donations.
We're looking for people who are friendly, approachable and confident speaking to members public to spread the message about RoR and the work we do.
RoR runs a range of mounted and unmounted educational camps, clinics and training events to support retraining and responsible ownership. As an education event volunteer, you’ll support your local Regional Development Officer (RDO) in delivering these sessions smoothly and professionally.
You might help with raising awareness of events, setting up arenas, assisting coaches, supporting practical demonstrations or with gathering images or video.
If you own or ride a former racehorse, you may be able to support us by taking part in demonstrations, parades and showcase events. These events offer a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate the versatility and success of former racehorses beyond the track, inspiring others and promoting responsible retraining.
You might attend race meetings, shows or special events where horses are paraded or showcased as part of our promotional and educational activity, this may include speaking to members of the public about your journey and the work of RoR.

Our major competitions, including the Winter Championships and the National Championships, are exciting highlights of the RoR calendar, and they simply couldn’t run without the support of dedicated volunteers.
As a competition support volunteer, you’ll be part of the behind-the-scenes team helping everything run smoothly and safely. From arena preparation to running dressage sheets, your support ensures competitors and horses have the best possible experience.
